Are you interested in exploring vocational ministry?

A summer internship at HCC could be a great way to start. The goal of this program is to enhance the ministry of HCC as well as provide an opportunity for hands-on learning for our intern. Therefore there is flexibility to shape the internship to match your interests. We want you to leave your internship better equipped for a lifetime of ministry.

What we are looking for from you:

Mature follower of Christ with a vibrant faith
Commitment to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20)
Commitment to the theology, mission and values of Canadian Church of God Ministries
Experience (paid or volunteer) serving and leading children, youth or family ministry
Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
Strong organization and time management skills
Current police check
Plan to Protect training (can be completed after hiring)

What you can expect from us:

Paid internship running from May 2026 through to the end of August 2026
35 hours per week

Janelle Stone

I grew up in Camrose and Wetaskiwin, attending North American Baptist College (now Taylor) and earning a degree in sociology from the University of Calgary. Working in schools and community service organizations as a Registered Social Worker before starting a family and moving from Edmonton to Ottawa to Edmonton to Washington D.C. to Edmonton to Washington D.C. to Edmonton between 2006 and 2020 (my husband, Liam worked in government, in case that wasn’t obvious). In 2014, I began serving at Northwest Community Church in Washington, D.C. as Children’s Ministry Director, which led to an Associate Pastor position in 2019. I was ordained by the Church of God in October 2019. During my time in D.C. I also served as the Teaching Director for the Bethesda, Maryland class of Community Bible Study, from 2017-20. I love the Bible, and have felt a strong and consistent leading in my life to share the life-giving beauty of God’s word to us. I believe it has the power to turn dormant Christians into dynamic Christians. Dynamic, life-giving disciples who expand and build up the Kingdom. It is my joy to be part of that work. Worship Ministry Coordinator

Zac Lutzer

Since 2014, I have volunteered and worked in a number of worship/music roles for several ministries, denominations and schools, consistently developing my faith and understanding of worship. In 2023, my attendance at HCC turned into service, and my excitement and gratitude for the congregation, volunteers and leaders have only increased. I am blessed beyond my knowledge for this role and how God has provided for the congregation through the church's volunteers. Youth Ministry Coordinator

Julia Mckellar

In 2022/23 I attended Mount Carmel Bible College for a one-year discipleship program. That summer I had the chance to work as a camp counsellor across Alberta, which solidified my ambition in further youth ministry. In the following year I started in the X-ray program at NAIT and began leading in a youth Bible study. Now I'm in the clinical phase of my studies and I'm really excited about attending Holyrood and working with the youth group. Email: youth@holyroodchurch.ca
